Xiaomi is preparing to launch the most anticipated Redmi Note 10 series in India next month. The company could also launch a successor to the Mi Smart Band 5 as soon as the Mi Band 6 receives Indonesian Telecom and Indian BIS certification.
As noted by Mukul Sharma, Xiaomi device with model number XMSH15HM appears on Indonesia Telecom and the Indian BIS list. Among them, the first gives the name of the product as “Smart Band 6”.
If you remember, Xiaomi launched its predecessor ‘Mi Band 5’ in China, but brought it to markets like India as ‘Mi Smart Band 5’. Accordingly, ‘Mi Smart Band 6’ could introduce itself as Mi Band 6 in China. Anyway, Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed anything yet.
In terms of specs, the Mi Band 6 with the same XMSH15HM model number reportedly leaked to the Zepp application code. It revealed that the fitness tracker will be delivered with SpO2 (Blood Oxygen Monitoring) and the support of Alexa Assistant.
It is also expected to have a larger screen than the 1.1-inch screen on its predecessor. Just like previous versions, it could get NFC and non-NFC variants for different markets, built-in GPS (what’s being talked about), Heart Rate Monitoring (PPG), sleep tracking and more.
Other possible specifications include 30 modes (sports modes), including Zumba, cricket, basketball and kickboxing. Xiaomi launched the Mi Band 5 back in September 2020 in India at a price of 2,499 ₹.
Although there is no data on color variants and prices, we can expect Xiaomi to set the same price (if not higher) for the successor as before. Let’s wait for more details in the coming days.
