Will Smith and Martin Lawrence celebrate the 26th anniversary of the Bad Boys

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence posted a short video on social media celebrating the 26th anniversary of the hit action, Bad Boys.

The new video by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence celebrates 26 years since Bad guys the franchise was launched for the first time. Back in 1995, Smith’s acting career on the big screen was just beginning, and his role in an action-comedy film was exactly what he needed to catapult him to a new star level.

At the same bend, Lawrence was on a similar path as Smith during the 90s. His TV sitcom, Martin, was a big hit, though undoubtedly neither as influential nor popular as Smith Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. As a stand up comedian, Lawrence was known as a much more controversial star than Smith, he even went so far as to be banned for life SNL, after his introductory monologue as host in 1994 was riddled with misogynistic jokes. However, after Smith and Lawrence were put on screen as police detectives in Miami, Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence), the current chemistry seemed to be evolving. This chemistry helped Bad guys to earn over $ 100 million worldwide – a particularly impressive feat given the film’s $ 19 million budget. From there, the film’s popularity only grew, resulting in a sequel from 2003, and the last, third franchise entry, in the 2020s Bad Boys for Life.

With popularity Bad guys since the franchise is what it currently is, it seems natural that Smith and Lawrence would be eager to celebrate what they have in their lives. By the way, 2021 marks the 26th yearth anniversary of the first film in the series, and Smith did not miss the opportunity to redouble the commitment he and Lawrence have Bad guys. Writing, “When we say ABOUT LIFE, we mean it. The Bad Boys came out today 26 years ago! ” in a recent post on Instagram, Smith gave fans a small celebratory video:

For those who truly love Bad guys franchise, Smith and Lawrence’s video is more than just a special anniversary. It also provides reassurance that no immediate end is in sight for further research into the lives of Detectives Lowrey and Burnett. Of this writing, the fourth Bad guys the film is already in production and its performance will likely determine if and when the fifth film is on the card. The success that surrounded Bad Boys for Life was unfortunately discontinued last year when the COVID-19 panemia cinema closed, but despite this failure, it continued to become the highest-grossing film of 2020 at the U.S. box office.

It’s hard to believe that Smith and Lawrence have managed to keep their chemistry on screen for 26 years, and it’s even harder to believe that Bad guys the franchise continues to thrive in 2021. But just as Smith’s fame doesn’t seem to show signs of decay, so does this beloved franchise. Lawrence’s popularity may not be what it was during the 1990s, but the two stars together have created something that has survived the test of time – which is certainly not an easy task.
