Why did Ganduje overthrow Sanusi from the post of Emir Kano -Sen Kwankwaso –

By Joseph Erunke

FORMER governor of the state of Kano, Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso, said his predecessor Abdullahi Ganduje overthrew Muhammad Sunusi II as Emir of Kano because of the former “emir’s progressive ideas on various issues affecting the people in the state”.

That was while denying the insinuation that he had appointed former CBN governor to the throne, despite former President Goodluck Jonathan.

In a statement from his chief private secretary, Muhammad Inuwa Ali, the politician said in particular that one of the main reasons the government opposed the former CBN chief was that: “For example, during the state economic summit in Kaduna, the Emir expressed his professionalism. and an unbiased opinion on Ganduje’s plan to raise $ 1.8 billion in loans from China. “

Kwankwaso reacted to a statement given to his predecessor during his introductory address at the launch of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s book two weeks ago in Abuja.

He said: “Let me note that the Governor of Gandhu and his cohort of Emir Sanus II were abducted and illegally overthrown because of the Emir’s progressive ideas on various issues affecting the people of the state.

“For example, during the state economic summit in Kaduna, the Emir expressed his professional and impartial opinion on Ganduje’s plan to raise $ 1.8 billion in loans from China as follows:

“We have governors; they go to China and spend a month on tour and with what they return, the MoR (Memorandum of Understanding) on debts. “

“China will lend you $ 1.8 billion to build a light rail. This light rail will be performed by railway workers from China. The trains will come from China. The engines will come from China. The workforce comes from China. The driver is Chinese.

“At the end of the day, what’s the use of that?” Your citizen will ride the train, and when you ride the train, in the north of Nigeria, in a country like Kano, where are you going? You will not be working in an industrial estate. You’re not going to school? You’re not going to the farm. You borrow money from China to invest in trains so that your citizens can ride them and go to weddings and appointment ceremonies. “

Senator Kwankwaso added: “Everyone knows that Gov. Ganduje’s despair of getting a $ 1.8 billion loan and criticism of the former Emir at the expense of the loan encouraged the illegal removal of Emir Sanusi II; it had nothing to do with former President Jonathan.

“It is common knowledge that the Emir was too progressive at the will of Governor Ganduje and that this is precisely the reason why, after his illegal removal and the dissolution of the Emirate Council, Kano appointed an Emir who will not question his unscrupulous decisions even if they are against the interests of the state and its people. “

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso congratulated former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on the publication, describing it as “another book that records his successful and successful public career as deputy governor, governor, vice president and president.”

“Literature of this nature is desperately needed in our country not only to clarify misconceptions and share experiences, but also to quench the appetite of emerging young leaders who will eventually occupy the mantle of leadership in our country. Therefore, I congratulate the authors on a good job, “he said.

Speaking further, Kwankwaso said contrary to Gandhu’s claim, he consulted widely before coming to the election of Sanusi as Emir Kano to succeed Alhaji Ado Bayer.

Hear it: “In order for the records to be set up correctly, the appointment and coronation of the Emir of Kano is a legal advisory process and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso as then Governor of Kano knows what kind of people to consult when it comes to such critical issues bordering with lifelong appointments such as the successor to the late Emir Ado Bayer.

“Sen Kwankwaso was looking for a progressive emir to succeed the late emir and surely everyone who knows Governor Ganduje will confirm that he is not progressive and that is why Senator Kwankwaso deliberately refused to advise him on choosing Muhammad Sunusi II as the new Emir.

“Because he is a predictable leader, Senator Kwankwaso believes that whenever a leader is given the opportunity to make a decision that will be a lifelong meeting, he must not make such a decision about personal feelings because those feelings could change and what if such a decision happens?

“Therefore, Muhammad Sunusi II was chosen among the other contestants because he is the most experienced in Islamic and Western education, he is the most experienced and enjoys the tremendous support and good will of the creators of kings, emirate councils and really good people of Kano state; that was what informed his appointment. ‘

He reminded that “In fact, one of the brilliant honors for the selection and appointment of Emir Sanusi II was given by the then Deputy Governor of the State of Kano, Dr. Ganduje, who had this to say on Friday, June 13, 2014, in a live show on the television and radio channel Freedom:

“Sanusi was the best among the candidates for appointment to the Emir of Canoe. The rich experience of one of the best economists in the world and his reliability are always his weapon. Remember how he exposed how a person under President Jonathan’s administration stole billions of dollars

“Congratulations to His Excellency Rabiu Kwankwasu on choosing the right person at a time when Kano and Nigeria need people like Sanusi Lamid Sanusi in this position.”

Going further, Kwankwaso said, “It is therefore beyond hypocrisy for the Governor of Gandhu to stand on a pedestal and publicly contradict himself for mere opportunism and malice.”
