Tonight marks a special Christmas preparation for Christmas, and Bake Off: Professionals is hosting Tom Allen for Noel Fielding this year.

The comedian will join Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith and Matt Lucas to celebrate Christmas in a white tent, with the return of former contestants Jamie Finn and Rosie Brandreth-Poynter from Bake Off in 2019, 2018 finalist Ruby Bhogal and 2017 contestant James Hillery. for the coveted Christmas Star Baker title.

“I was thrilled to be asked to host Matt Lucas,” the 37-year-old said in a statement. “Finally, bald homosexuals get their chance on television.”

Allen also joked, during the previous part of Jonathan Ross ’ITV chat show, that working on Bake Off: Professionals was not good for his profession.

“I ate so much cake that I had to be cut out of my vest,” he explained.

Alexandra Burke will be the guest star of the show, performing a magical version of Silent Night to introduce us to the festive spirit.

Mighty Boosh Fielding star failed to make Christmas special because he is on paternity after the birth of his second child. He became a father for the second time in October after his partner Lliana Bird welcomed their daughter.

Fielding fans will be pleased to hear that he is returning to The Great New Year Bake Off, which will welcome the return of Helena Garcia and Henry Bird from the 2019 series along with two winners from previous seasons. Nancy Birtwhistle, who won in 2014, and Rahul Mandal from 2018 complete the lineup. Four bakeries will join the hosts and judges for singing around the piano.

Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will be evaluating Christmas and New Year specialties.

The Great British Bake Off crowned the champion 20-year-old Peter Sawkins, who became the youngest Bake Off winner since the start of the series and the first Scottish winner.

Fans can expect the return of Bake Off for the entire series in September next year.
