Kaduna State Governor Mallam El-Rufai reiterated his call for state police and the transfer of power to constituents in Nigeria, saying now is the time because the country is at war with criminal elements and elements of division by bringing the country to its knees.
The governor issued the invitation on Thursday, at the 18th meeting of the city hall entitled: “Setting benchmarks for strengthening security and national unity in Nigeria”, held at Kaduna State University in Kaduna.
He said that the state must now rise up against criminal elements in order to enable citizens a better and more peaceful life. He insisted that bandits and other criminal elements had lost their rights to exist and that the country must be emptied in order for the country to move forward.
El-Rufai, who blamed the Nigerian state for failing to maintain a duty in resolving the country’s escalating crisis, also blamed insecurity on a lack of coordination among security agencies, adding that the justice system has become a safe haven for criminals unnecessarily delaying prosecutions.
