Kieran Trippier was banned from performing all football and soccer activities for 10 weeks and fined £ 70,000 for violating the Football Association’s betting rules.
The suspension shall take effect immediately after an investigation by an independent regulatory commission.
His scheduled return date of March 1, 2021 is subject to any appeal that Trippier may initiate and any subsequent FA appeals if the suspension is changed.
An FA spokesman said, “Kieran Trippier was suspended for 10 weeks and fined £ 70,000 for breaking the rules regarding breaking FA betting rules.
“The Atletico Madrid defender has denied seven alleged violations of FA E8 (1) (b) rules, which were said to have occurred during July 2019, and has requested a personal hearing.
“An independent regulatory commission has been appointed to hear the case, with four alleged violations found to be proven and three rejected during the next personal hearing.
“The written reasons of the independent regulatory commission for its decisions and the related sanctions will be published in time.
“The suspension, which includes all football and football-related activities, is in effect worldwide as of today (Wednesday, December 23, 2020) following the application to FIFA.”
