Liverpool could really be in a double season. This comes after a triple boost that dramatically increases the Reds ’chances.
A season of two trophies – effectively one thing that Jurgen Klopp failed at in Liverpool. Here we are talking about the ‘main’ trophies, of course, not counting the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
In fact, Liverpool have not lifted two major trophies in one season since 2001. They have lifted three of those seasons, of course – the League Cup, the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup.
Klopp’s victories in the Champions League and Premier League surpass that trio. But it remains that he did not have a dominant season in which Liverpool won in more competitions.
And at the Liverpool level, that’s the next goal.

Maybe then Liverpool would have a chance this year after a threefold increase in injuries.
First team
Liverpool welcomed Thiago, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri to first team training on Wednesday. That’s huge news – none of it has been played for weeks.
He immediately boosts the number of Liverpool and adds world-class talent to Thiago.
And this news should be miraculous for Liverpool’s FA Cup campaign.
With a crisis due to injuries at the club, we expect Klopp to knock out the kids against Aston Villa in the third round. That, after all, is what he did last year, following the hectic December schedule.
This time, however, December was not so hectic. And now Liverpool have far more options available at the club with this return to the top three.
They will need the games consistently to regain their fitness, and Milner and Shaqiri, at the very least, are surely pen-opposed to Willie.
Klopp can then afford to create a strong team. In doing so, Liverpool will not throw a chance in a double season.
That is, winning the FA Cup and the Premier League. Liverpool have not achieved this since 1986 under Kenny Dalglish.
But that’s the real possibility this season. When everyone is in shape, this is by far the best and deepest Liverpool squad in a very, very long time.
In fact, probably ever, in fact.
Hopefully this is a season where Liverpool can show their dominance on a new scale and deliver double.
