Nominees for the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards were announced on Wednesday (April 7th), and The Weeknd is leading a package with an incredible eight nominations. Megan Stallion and Roddy Ricch follow the Canadian star with seven head nods each.
The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” was nominated for Song of the Year, just months after it was arrested by the 63rd Grammy Award. The song will challenge DaBaby and Rich’s collaboration for “Rockstar,” Post Malone’s “Circles,” and Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now.”
Megan Thee Stallion was nominated for Female Artist of the Year and Hip Hop Artist of the Year.
“Savage (Remix)”, her first single with the help of Beyoncé, was nominated for Hip-Hop Song of the Year, while “WAP”, her controversial No. 1 with Cardi B, was nominated for Best Music Video, Favorite Music Video Choreography and TickTok Bop years.
