The suspected armed men killed 2 observers, 5 others in Kaduna

The Kaduna state government, on Thursday night, confirmed the murder of two vigilantes and five others.

The state commissioner, the Ministry of Interior Security and Interior, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, said the state government had been informed that several armed bandits had also been neutralized on the outskirts of Galadimawa in the Giwa local government area in Kaduna state.

According to him, “Armed bandits were neutralized after they attacked the Galadimawa market on Wednesday night, where two awake men and five citizens lost their lives.

“According to a security report, armed bandits sneaked into the market around 4pm and opened fire on vigilant people, in the process of killing the following operatives: Yusuf Magaji Iyatawa, Dabo Bafillace.

“During the escape, bandits killed the following five citizens: Danjum Halada, Shuaib Isyak, Isyak Adam, Sheh Dalhat, Musa Harun Keraw.”

The statement goes on to say, “The driver of a commercial trailer, once Alhaji Yusuf Tumburku, who had just loaded 330 bags of corn belonging to a trader, Alhaji Hamzi Ungwan Lalle Giwau, had his vehicle and grain burned to ashes. Armed bandits burned another car.

“Security agencies, consisting of police and troops, provided hot support to the armed bandits as they fled the general area.

“Armed bandits who were on about 15 motorcycles met their end in the hands of aggressive combat aircraft platforms that hired them and then neutralized several of them.

“Ground troops are still conducting clearing operations in the general areas of Galadimawa and Kidandan.

“The governor of the state of Kaduna, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, expressed his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and praised the army and the police for neutralizing the armed bandits.

“The governor instructed the local population in the municipalities of Galadimawa and Kidandan in the local government of Giwa to continue to provide useful information to the government and security agencies,” the statement said.
