The Southern Senators’ Forum promises to support Nigeria’s unity

Olusegun Bamgbose, head of the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, claimed that key leaders of the two leading political parties, the People’s Democratic Party, the PDP and the Congress of All Progressives, APC, were in strict secrecy to make it harder for any Southerner to emerge as presidential candidate under their platforms, comes 2023.

According to him, this is a new dimension as stakeholders are fighting for the race to Aso Rock, adding that recent attacks on APC national leader Bol Tinubu and Raji Fasholu were part of the plans.

“The key leaders of the APC, the PDP, are at the top of the secret benefits to make it difficult for any Southerner to run as a presidential candidate in either of the two main parties, the APC and the PDP,” he told the DAILY POST.

“Recently, a PDP panel set up to consider the issue of zoning refused zoning. This essentially means that Abubakar Atiku, the former vice president of Nigeria, will most likely get the PDP presidential card.

“APC is following in the footsteps because it is an agreement. Usually, if Tinubu gets an APC ticket, he may not be able to defeat Atiku for obvious reasons.

“In other words, the fake APC that will sell to its leaders is that they too are shortening the PDP line in order to retain power in 2023.

“This is a top secret agreement between the two main parties. However, some stakeholders in the parties disagree with these settings.

“Opinions are that in order to preserve the unity of the country, strength must be renewed in the south.

“Let me, however, convince the Nigerians that there is no reason for alarm, come in 2023, the Southerner will appear as president.

“Agitation for Oduduwa and the Republic of Biafra will not be a way out. Proper planning prevents poor performance. We have to plan ahead.

“The South cannot get the presidency on a platter of gold, we have to work for it and we will certainly get it. This has already happened and will happen again.

“Our challenge is just bad leadership. Leaving Bukhari will surely open up refreshing times. By his grace, I will strengthen the unity of Nigeria in 60 days from taking office as President of Nigeria.

“What we need is just a detribalized leader who is passionate about making Nigeria great. We need a leader who will value our unity more than anything else, ”he said.
