The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) claimed yesterday that the desire of some forces in the Congress of All Progressives (APC) to destroy opposition political parties and democracy in Nigeria was a conspiracy specifically to destabilize the PDP.

A top source explained that the APC, after seeing the crisis generated by the revalidation of the membership, wants to demolish the house because of its furious internal crisis.

Also, the national president of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, told reporters who met him in his office that “as you can see, there is no crisis in the PDP. It is just a conspiracy of external forces that will cause a crisis or shout a wolf when there is really no crisis.

“Our antagonists, who want the party to fall apart since we lost two presidential elections in 2015 and 2019, are concerned about how we are managing to gather resources and keep the party afloat. But by the grace of God, we will overcome it all and save Nigeria from the infamous APC administration. “

Also, some PDP leaders who spoke to some selected journalists further acknowledged that there were problems within the party, but that they had been resolved.

Citing an example of a conspiracy to provoke a crisis in the PDP, the party’s top board member (BoT) revealed that exactly what the APC did in 2018 after the presidential campaign in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, seduced one of its former NWC members. and works against the leadership of the opposition party.

According to the source, “The APC was annoyed by the successful implementation of the PDP at the Port Harcourt convention, which led them to a conspiracy and kidnapped our Deputy National President for the Northeast, Alhaji Babayo Gamawa. The APC did what it did because they thought it could cause a crisis in the PDP. “

“The former member of the Northeast NWC, however, failed in his assignment because some NWC members from the PDP he met to cause problems in the party rejected his plan to provoke a crisis in the party.”

Also, the source claimed that some former governors from some southern states who wanted to be used in a conspiracy to destabilize the PDP, including enticing leaders to leave the PDP, rejected the idea when the APC reached them.

Party sources explained that the APC is concerned that the PDP, although in opposition, has no crisis within the party.

He stated that the APC is donating money to PDP members in the southwest region to join the APC in order to provoke a crisis.

The source quoted the case of former aviation minister, Femi Fani Kayode, who is a vocal member of the PDP, but the APC wants him to defect, but he has in the meantime rejected the conspiracy.

“In fact, the former governor of the state of Ekiti, Ayo Fayose, has described himself as a solid member of the PDP and that nothing will force him to join the APC.

“He said against this move:” Everyone who leaves the PDP for the APC is driven by greed, “he said.

The source then quoted Fayose as saying, “I have passed 60 years. What do I want to become? I was governor at 42 years old. The PDP offered me all the opportunities that anyone could offer me.

“I will not go to the APC. What is missing? Some people chose to be dishonest, but not me. “
