The NBA is lifting the international travel ban on fully vaccinated scout teams

On Monday, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported that the NBA was lifting international travel restrictions for fully vaccinated team staff looking to spy on potential prospects.

The League originally banned international travel for scouts based in the United States in October 2020. Scouts are now allowed to travel abroad as long as they comply with applicable government regulations, adhering to social distance and other health and safety protocols.

Team scouts and other personnel are considered to have been fully vaccinated seven days after receiving the second dose of Pfizer and Moderna vaccination or 14 days after receiving a single dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine, the report said.

With the NBA easing international travel restrictions, scouts can now attend games and training open to the general public or those events available to all 30 teams they can attend in person.

The NBA draft is scheduled for July 29.
