The Monaco defender confirmed Man Utd’s summer offer for 22 million pounds

AS Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile has confirmed that he received an offer from Manchester United in the summer.

The 19-year-old enjoyed a fruitful campaign for Ligue 1 under former Bayern Munich boss Nike Kovac, scoring two goals in 25 appearances to help his team bid for the title.

And the central defender – who Thierry Henry added to the Monaco team in 2018 as a 17-year-old – admitted that he received an offer from United in September to transfer 22 million pounds to Old Trafford, but he has no regrets that he turned them down.

He said RMC Sport: “It was the right choice, the first thing is that I haven’t enjoyed good seasons since I was in Monaco.

“We played to stay awake and so now I’m really experiencing the top of the table and I think continuing with the club that formed me was the right decision and the season we have proves that.”

Pressed further on whether he regretted Man United, he unequivocally replied, “No, not at all.”
