Rijeka Gov. Nyesom Wike said Thursday that Nigerians’ hopes rest on the People’s Democratic Party.

Wike, the PDP leader, made the remark during the commissioning of the reconstructed Aker base road in his state.

“The PDP is the party the Nigerians want,” Wike said. “Despite all the intimidation, it will not work. We are character people. We are the people who stand by what they say. Not because of monetary interest.

“If I were such a governor. . . I know how many times people have tried to love us. We say no, we can’t court. Here we are, here we are. We started with the PDP, and we will end with the PDP. We have no other political party to join. Since the fate of this country, Nigeria’s hope depends solely on our party.

“When we talk about our foreigner, it is not out of selfish interests. But because we want our party to continue giving to Nigerians who hope Nigerians are asking. So when something goes wrong, we shout. So Nigerians will not lose faith because everyone hopes that by 2023 the PDP will take over the reins of power. I’m not talking about this country. “
