Great Britain is baked returned to the screens tonight (December 24) with a special gala episode.
Back in the snow tent (despite filming in May) were the bakers from previous seasons of the show.
Series 10 semifinalist Rosie is back, along with Jamie who left in the second week of the 2019 season.
Also returning are Season 9 finalist Ruby and James who participated in Serie 8 and made it halfway.
In this episode, hosts Matt Lucas teamed up Extra Slice host Tom Allen as Noel Fielding was on paternity after welcoming his second daughter earlier this year.
After a series of three roasts, it was Rosie who walked away with Star Baker.
“I can’t really believe it,” she said. “I’m so happy, it’s the perfect ending for a nice couple of days.”
Judge Prue Leith, who wore blonde hair for the show, added: “I’m so happy for Rosie because she never won Star Baker and never shook hands.”
Rosie was praised by Prue and Paul Hollywood for the showstopper who saw bakers create an illusory Christmas feast cake.
She opted for a traditional turkey dinner made from a chocolate orange sponge with yorkshire cheese puddings.
Prue called her baking “stunning,” while Paul said it was some of “the best illusion stuff in the tent”.
The bakers also had to make 12 festive signboards for the signature challenge and stir in a quick Christmas pudding with minced meat made from scratch, served with orange cream, for the technique.
The bakers were shocked to get only an hour and 15 minutes for the pudding, which meant they had to use the microwave.
Great Britain is baked is broadcast on Channel 4. The New Year’s special will be broadcast on January 3 at 7:45 p.m. Viewers can also watch it for free on All4.
In the US, the show is known as Great British bakery show, with new episodes debuting every Friday on Netflix.
