The Department of Civil Service (DSS) has issued a warning about plans by some criminal elements to carry out violent attacks on public places during the yuletide seasons.

He identified key and vulnerable points as the targets of the attack.

In yesterday’s statement of the public relations officer (PRO), the national headquarters of dr. Peter Afunanya, in Abuja, said the planned heinous acts would be carried out using explosives, suicide bombs and other dangerous weapons.

Criminals plan to create a general sense of fear among Nigerians and then undermine the government, Afunnaya said.

He assured that the Service would not stop at anything to catch the criminal elements and bring them to justice.

In that context, he called on citizens to be extra vigilant and reported unusual movements and all suspicions about them to security and law enforcement agencies.

The statement reads: “For its part, the Service works with other sister agencies to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to protect life and property.

“In order to further achieve this purpose, the Service provided these emergency numbers 08132222105 and 09030002189 for emergency contacts. He also uses this opportunity to discover his interactive website for public communication support.

‘Everyone is encouraged to use these platforms and similar platforms provided by related agencies to reach them in a timely manner (security agencies) and request the necessary information.

“However, the Service advises those who plan to cause chaos and damage to public peace to move away from not stopping at anything to catch up and bring to justice.”

In his Christmas message to Nigerians, DSS Director General Yusuf Bichi assured them of their safety during and after the holiday periods.
