The Day Will and Kate got married on ITV shared royal fans

New ITV documentary, Dan Will and Kate got married, which aired last night, divided fans of the royal couple. A special hourly program was created before the tenth wedding anniversary of Prince William and Kate Middleton, which is fast approaching (they were married on April 29, 2011) and includes an interview with one of Kate’s uncles, Gary.

However, judging by the reception the documentary has had so far on social media, there are a few elements of it that some viewers are less than impressed with – one is a pair of potentially ‘sad’ references to a future disagreement that would divide [the royal family]”.

Others pointed out that it was strange that the program mentioned that Kate had “abruptly changed her plan” which university she wanted to attend and which course she would study, “for unknown reasons.”

According to one review from The Telegraph, the latter is interpreted as suggesting that Kate is a ‘royal gold digger’ because she moved from the University of Edinburgh to St Andrew to study art history (along with her future husband) – something the royal fans quickly dismissed.

An enthusiast from Cambridge wrote on Twitter after the documentary, “Really disappointed and annoyed by this documentary and how Catherine #TheDayWillAndKateGotMarried is portrayed.” One more he said, “Why were they supposed to talk about Meghan and Harry in the end? They thought this documentary was about Will and Kate’s wedding day? #TheDayWillAndKateGotMarried.”

One tweet added, “There was so much they could cover at the wedding of the decade! However, ITV started with the comment” no one could have imagined the brothers divorcing after 10 years, “and ended with a comment on Megxit. A horrible documentary.”

However, instead of focusing on perceived negativity, others used the documentary as an opportunity to celebrate and reminisce about their own memories of the Grand Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s great day, along with Kate’s stunning wedding dress.

“Anyone else get emotional watching Prince William marry Kate? I can’t believe it’s ten years this year!” one viewer also commented, along with emojis of crying faces (same!).

Plenty of people obviously enjoyed learning the details behind the scenes of the big event, including the fact that the royal wedding cake baker, Fiona Cairns, revealed that she made the cake so big that the door had to be removed from its hinges for the triumphant creator to pass. A real achievement if you ask us!

Anyone else in utter disbelief that William and Kate’s wedding was almost a decade ago?
