Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on Wednesday night signed a law approving a budget for 2021 of over 176 billion.
Speaking at the ceremony, Tambuwal thanked President and members of the Sokoto State House for the extraordinary adoption of the law.
He said, “The feat demonstrates the commitment and patriotism of state legislators in fulfilling their mandate to the people of Sokoto State.
“You have rightly shown a very unusual patriotism devoid of partisan attitude.”
He praised them for uniting for the common man in the state despite differences in political parties, urging them to continue working together in the same direction.
The Governor also thanked the civil servants for their hard work and commitment in carrying out their responsibilities.
Earlier, the president of Rt Hon Aminu, Muhammad Achida, said that the budget for 2021 was adopted after consideration and careful supervision.
He said, “The house did not add or reduce budget N176, 685.535.643: 47 presented to it by the executive. We are extremely impressed by the great achievements of the executive in the implementation of the 2020 budget.
“Despite the financial challenges in the 2020 budget, many successes have been recorded in education, health and rural development.”
The chairman also assured the governor that state legislation would ensure the swift adoption of any law aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens.
