Security operatives, including soldiers attached to the 32nd Artillery Brigade patrolling the Akoko axis in the state of Ondo, killed the suspected kidnapper and prevented an attempt to kidnap three passengers.
The hijackers acted along the Ibilo-Isua road and tried to abduct three passengers in a gold-colored Toyota Highlander 2006 model marked AKD 55 GS when the patrol team came across them in the shooting.
A statement from the commander of the 32nd Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Zakari Abubakar, said the other suspects fled into the woods with varying degrees of gunshot wounds.
