Realme details “Dual-platform Dual-flagship” strategy at MWCS 2021, examines GT 5G leather variant

The leather version of the Realme GT 5G Bumblebee, which appeared on the official poster earlier today, was unveiled at the ongoing World Congress (MWC) in Shanghai, China.

The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 888 SoC, and features a stainless steel VC cooling system for improved heat dissipation and lasting performance.

Realme says the GT 5G is based on the GT sports car concept, and the leather variant will flaunt a two-tone leather design using two different types of materials. The black stripe on the back panel will have a glossy “race track” finish, while the rest of the panel will be covered with upgraded second-generation vegan leather with a softer texture, softer touch and a better color effect.

However, this will not be the first time that Realme brings a smartphone with vegan skin to the market. Last year, the company launched the Realme 7 Pro SE Sun Kissed Leather Edition with vegan skin. You can read our Realme 7 Pro SE Kissed Leather practical paper to learn more about it.

In addition to reviewing the GT 5G at Shanghai’s MWC (MWCS), Realme also announced its “Dual-platform Dual-flagship strategy,” as part of which the company will launch flagship models in two different series.

One will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8xx serial chips and will focus on the performance aspect, while the other will have MediaTek’s Dimensity 5G SoC series under the hood and focus on camera technology.
