Paul Dano will play a role inspired by the father of the child of director Steven Spielberg from the film Childhood – Deadline

Paul Dano starred in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming unnamed Amblin film, which is loosely based on the childhood of an Oscar-winning filmmaker.

Dano will play a character inspired by Spielberg’s father, but with a separate and original voice. He is joined by Michelle Williams who will play a character inspired by Spielberg’s mother, and Seth Rogen who will play a character based on the filmmaker’s favorite uncle. The cameras will launch this summer and are aimed at showing in cinemas in 2022.

The painting was written by Spielberg and Tony Kushner; produced by Spielberg, Kushner and Kristie Macosko Krieger.

Dano will next be starring in Riddler in Warner Bros. DC, by Matt Reeves Batman, which is due out in March 2022.

Dano was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Beach Boys host Brian Wilson in the 2016 film. Love and mercy. He made his feature film directorial debut Wilderness which premiered at the Cannes and Toronto Film Festivals in 2018. He co-wrote the screenplay with Zoe Kazan. The picture, starring Carey Mulligan, was released by IFC in October 2018. Dano’s turn came in the 2006 film Little Miss Sunshine awarded him the 2007 Critics Choice Award for Best Young Actor and shared the victory in the SAG ensemble for the comedy Searchlight.
