Olu of Warri is unhappy, the palace says

Ogiame Ikenwoli, Olu Warri, is unhappy and is currently receiving medical treatment, said Clement Maleghemi, the palace administrator.

Maleghemi said this in his reaction to reports that Olu died in the early hours of Monday morning.

In a statement Tuesday, the palace administrator said Ayiri Emami, an Ologbotser from the Warri kingdom, would brief the public on the circumstances surrounding the monarch’s illness.

“The attention of His Majesty’s Palace, Ogiame Ikenwoli, Olu of Warri, has been drawn to news / speculation on social media announcing His Majesty’s sudden death,” the palace administrator said.

“We want to inform the general public that His Majesty is in a bad mood and that he is currently receiving medical assistance from a team of qualified medical specialists.

“Any further information on the subject will be released to the general public by the office of the traditional Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Warri, Chief Ayirimi Emami, Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom.”

On December 12, Olu celebrated his fifth anniversary on the chair.
