The Olu of Warri Palace, Delta State, Ogiame Ikenwoli has dismissed reports on social media that the revered monarch has joined his ancestors.
A statement from the director of the Olu Palace administration from Warri Palace, Chief Clement Maleghemi, but without a date, states that the monarch was attended by a team of qualified medical specialists.
A statement released yesterday afternoon said a further statement on the issue would be made public by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Warri, Chief Ayirimi Emami, Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom.
The statement read in its entirety: “The attention of His Royal Highness Ogiame Ikenwoli’s palace, Olu Warri, has been drawn to news / publications on social media announcing His Majesty’s sudden death.
“We want to inform the general public that His Majesty is in a bad mood and that he is currently receiving medical assistance from a team of qualified medical specialists.
“Any further information on the subject will be released to the general public by the office of the traditional Prime Minister of the Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami, Ologbotser Warri Kingdom.”
