Olisa Metuh returns to freedom after bail of N250m

Former National Secretary for the Promotion of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, chief Olisa Metuh, has been released from the Kuja detention center.

His release on Thursday followed the annulment of a seven-year prison sentence by an appeals court handed down to him by Judge Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

On February 25, Judge Abang found Metuh guilty of all counts of money laundering and sentenced him to seven years in prison.

The federal higher court, Abuja, on Thursday recognized Metuha as bail in the amount of NW 250 million, which he also met.

A former PDP spokesman is on trial for allegedly collecting 400m NDHs for weapons from a former national security adviser, Colonel Samba Dasuki (retd).
