New Mexico reports over 500,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered

“New Mexicans can be proud: thanks to a nationwide pioneering registration system and a dedicated network of health care providers and volunteers across our state, we are vaccinating our population extraordinarily quickly,” Dr. Tracie Collins said . “We are doing this because we recognize the price this virus has caused – more than half a million American lives, including more than 3,600 new Mexicans. We seek to move New Mexico beyond this pandemic as soon as possible. ”

State health officials said essential frontline workers would be eligible for the next vaccination.

New Mexico is consistently ranked among the fastest states in the country for vaccine administration, according to the CDC.
