Young people from the city of Oyo stormed the Oyo State Secretariat in Agia on Thursday to protest the alleged killing of an Ibadan University (UI) student by Oyo State officials. Amotekun Housing.
The protesters, mostly students under the auspices of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), set up a blockade on one side of the road to the Agoda-Bodie Secretariat, causing a standstill.

The students were led by the President of NANS, Chapter Oyo State, Comrade Opakunle Mayowa and the Prime Minister of the Student Union (SUG), Chapter UI, Comrade Akeju Olusegun.
Responding, Oyo State Special Assistant Governor Seyi Makinde for Student Affairs, Mr. Olojede Victor, said the government was informed.
He advised students to be restrained and allow an investigation into the matter.
The source said the situation that led to the death of a 400-level student at Ibadan University, affiliated with the Federal College of Education Oyo (Special), was a suspicion of culture and armed robbery.
