MURIC: Anarchists like the Senate led by Saraki responsible for insecurity in Nigeria

The Muslim Concern for Rights (MURIC) says anarchists and bad losers among politicians should be blamed for the current wave of insecurity in Nigeria.

In a statement Thursday, Ishaq Akintola, director of MURIC, although some Nigerians are afraid to talk about those responsible for insecurity in Nigeria, MURIC will do so.

“It is unfortunate that many Nigerians are not ready to tell the truth about who is actually responsible for the current series of killings, kidnappings, robberies and riots,” he said.

“Some Nigerians know exactly when to blame, but fear will not allow them to speak. However, MURIC is obliged to say that, because it is regardless of whose ox is being destroyed.

“Certain elements without conscience manipulate information by spreading false news in order to incite Nigerians to the federal government.

“Bad losers among politicians are also hellishly willing to ensure that the current administration fails in all aspects of governance.”

Giving an example to the Senate led by Saraki, Akintola said the anarchists were deliberately trying to sabotage the government’s efforts to curb insecurity.

“There are also anarchists whose main goal is to sabotage security facilities, weaken security agencies and confiscate their weapons in order to unleash terror against innocent Nigerians,” he said.

“We saw that it happened in the way that the Senate under the leadership of Saraki on April 6, 2018, rejected the request of President Buhari for a billion dollars for the purchase of weapons for security agencies. That refusal was a deliberate attempt to thwart government efforts to stop insecurity.

“Nigerians would have witnessed a drastic improvement in the security situation in the country if that request had been met. But unpatriotic elements in the Senate ensured that the request was blocked. Of course, the same politicians turned to blaming Buhari for the worsening security situation.

“But the actual active sabotage of government efforts to address the security challenge has been seen during the recent #ENDsars protests. The release of prisoners, the burning of police stations and the removal of police weapons were symptoms of a deliberate attempt to make the security apparatus powerless, as well as a determination to free anarchy. “

Akintola also said recent attacks on police stations in Imo confirm the anarchists’ determination to prolong insecurity in the country.

This is not about defending Bukhari. That is the reality. That is true and MURIC is not afraid to tell the truth to the anarchists, “he added.

“How then can we blame FG or Bukhari for a growing wave of insecurity when we are the same people destroying security facilities and freeing criminals? Therefore, bad losers and anarchists are the ones who must be blamed for our deteriorating security situation. The panacea lies in the fact that the good citizens of this country gather to expose the enemies of peace. No one should think that another leader has a magic wand. “
