Spanish boss Luis Enrique is full of praise for Barcelona midfielder Pedri after inviting the youngster to his team for the first time.
Pedri will hope to make his debut during the international break with Spain’s first match against Greece on Thursday in the World Cup qualifiers.
At his pre-match press conference, Luis Enrique made it clear how highly he rated the 18-year-old.
“Pedry is already doing wonderful things despite his age. He is a humble, intelligent and hard worker. And he’s a great teammate. What I see is a top level player. ”
The Spanish boss also referred to the comparison of Pedri and the legend of Barcelona, Andres Iniesta, but he says that the young man had to be his own man.
“They are different players. I understand the comparisons, but Pedri has to be Pedri. We need to let Pedri improve at his own pace and let him create his own path. ”
Spain head to Georgia after Wednesday’s game and then end this round of games against Kosovo next Wednesday.
