Lafarge Africa receives MANCAP certificates from SON – Punch Newspapers

The Nigerian Standards Organization has presented the product quality certificates of the Compulsory Conformity Assessment Program to Lafarge Africa Plc, the Nigerian building materials giant LafargeHolcim.

A statement issued Wednesday by Lafarge’s director of communications, public affairs and sustainable development, Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, said the certificate was presented after Mfamosing products satisfactorily met the certification and standardization requirements set by SON.

The Mfamosing plant is described as a modern production plant located in Cross River State with an annual cement production capacity of 5MMT.

According to the company, the presentation of the MANCAP certificate further demonstrates Lafarge Africa Plc’s commitment to ensuring quality assurance and compliance with relevant product standards within the government’s regulatory framework.

Presenting the certificates, the Director General of SON, Mallam Farouk Salim, represented by the Cross River State Coordinator, SON, Mr. Ogbuji Chukwudi, praised Lafarge Africa for satisfactorily meeting the prescribed certification requirements and called on the company to continuously ensure high quality control at all times.

Salim said, “Lafarge products at the Mfamosing plant have received the prestigious SON quality label because they have met the prescribed requirements following the outcome of a series of MANCAP inspections of the company and corroborating and extensive analyzes.”

He said Lafarge Africa had unwaveringly ensured that its products met the requirements and therefore called on the company to ensure full use of the certification.
