Festus Keyamo, the state minister for labor and employment, has named those trying to push Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to revolt against President Muhammad Buhari.
Keyamo said some anarchists who want the current government to fall apart are trying to push Osinbay into rebellion.
However, he described Osinbay as an obedient vice president who refused to give their orders.
In a series of tweets, Keyamo wrote, “The intent of those who punish VP as“ obedient ”is to trick him into rebelling against his boss.
“They know that he is obediently performing his constitutional roles, but they are anarchists who would like this government to fall apart. The obedient vice president failed to stimulate their distorted imaginations.
“Democracy is NOT a government of the educated, by the educated and for the educated. No one will come to pay homage to your confirmation and hand over power to you.
“It’s really a measure of education to respect and appreciate all the nuances of people and opinions, and then approach power through such humility.”
Bukhari has been criticized for refusing to hand over power to Osinbay before traveling to London for his routine medical examination.
Dino Melaye, a former senator of Kogi West, called on Bukhari to transfer power to his deputy.
Olusegun Bamgbose, head of the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, for his part said it was now very obvious that Osinbayo was no longer needed in the presidency.
However, the presidency responded that Bukhari would govern Nigeria from its current position.
Bukhari’s spokesman Garba Shehu said it was not necessary for the president to transfer power to Osinbay.
