Returning to the small screen, Jon Stewart joins the expanded list of talk show hosts and actors who are leaving for Apple
Apple announced the name of Stewart’s new show on Wednesday. The multi-season, one-hour, one-man series that should be unveiled this fall will explore topics that are currently part of the national conversation. Streamer first announced that the show was in development last October.
It is the first project from a multi-year partnership between the streaming service and Stewart and its production company Busboy Productions. The agreement at first glance includes other projects that will be produced and developed for the service.
The show marks Stewart’s return to television from his award-winning Emmy Daily show with Jon Stewart completed in 2015 Problem with Jon Stewart it will also include an accompanying podcast for each season of the series with the goal of further exploring any discussion generated in the show.
With his debut, Stewart joins like other prominent storytellers, a deal with Apple TV +, including Oprah Winfrey, Idris Elbu and Tracy Oliver.
