MILAN – Christian Eriksen’s short career at Inter Milan is expected to end in January.
Eriksen joined Inter only at the beginning of the year, but club executive director Giuseppe Marotta confirmed on Wednesday that the midfielder is among the players the Nerazzurri are ready to sell.
“We will try to satisfy players who want to play more regularly, and from there we will look at who we will replace them with,” Marotta said.
“Eriksen is on the list of portable players. It’s not a penalty, but it doesn’t go, so it’s right to give him a chance to find more time to play somewhere else. “
Eriksen signed a four-and-a-half-year deal when he joined Premier League side Tottenham in January, but has made just 25 league appearances in almost 12 months, most of which are late replacements.
The 28-year-old Eriksen may have played his last match for Inter as he should miss the last match on Wednesday before the winter break, after being given permission to return to his native Denmark for the birth of his child.
