The 22-year-old scored both sides at half-time as Ligue 1 champions took an important step towards the European semi-finals.
Kylian Mbappe was in high spirits after his double helped PSG score a huge 3-2 away win against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The French striker scored on both sides of the half on Wednesday as PSG take a big advantage in their home side of the quarter-finals.
Mbappe has maintained a heated form in Europe, now scoring eight goals in his last four Champions League matches.
What was said?
“Above all, this is a top team performance, I was able to profit from everyone else,” Mbappe said. RMC Sport after the match. “Besides, we’re only at half-time in this huge clash. We suffered, but we suffered as a team, we shouldn’t be ashamed of our performance.
“We were solid and we knew how to inflict damage in our strong moments. We will attack the rematch with the same determination. Like I said in Barcelona, I like a game like this. I wasn’t always smiling, but I am not here to hide. I like to play matches like this and be determined.
“A rematch? For a start we have to play well against Strasbourg this weekend and then we will have to attack with confidence, even though we are facing a great team. This is the Champions League, there are only great teams.”
PSG stopped Bayern’s winning streak in Europe
With Wednesday’s win, PSG brought Bayern their first defeat in the Champions League since March 2019 when they lost to Liverpool – completing a series of 19 games that secured them 18 wins and one draw.
It was also the first time PSG have celebrated away at Bayern in the Champions League since November 1994, after losing three consecutive away games since then.
Bayern beat PSG 1-0 in last season’s final, and PSG will try to take revenge in the return match at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.
