I am in the government’s Anambra race to make a difference, says Ekwueme’s daughter

Lady Chidi Alexandra Onyemelukwe, the daughter of Second Republic Vice President Alex Ekwueme, says she is running for governor in November in the state of Anambra to add value to governance and make a difference.

Onyemelukwe said this while speaking to reporters in Abuja on Thursday, after she handed in the forms she filled out to run in the People’s Democratic Party’s primary election.

She said, “I am in a race because I believe I can offer a lot to the state of Anambra and have a passion for the people of the city of Anambra. I am the second generation of PDP. I have a fear and love for God and a sense of selfless service to offer people Anambra. ”

The candidate described herself as a tough politician who relied on God the Father, instead of adopting a godfather to win the election

She said, “If you’re talking about heavy weight, if they put us on the scales, I believe I’m heavier than everyone else.

“I have a lot to offer. I have a passion for selfless service and pious service. I believe I stand out because I have PDP DNA.

“I have been the main party member from the very beginning. Yes, new things are happening, the world is changing. Women come to different places.

“The state of Anambra already has two women senators, which is unknown in the rest of Nigeria. This has never been done elsewhere.

“In Anambra, women are special and innovative, and we are brave. This time it will be different and we will see how a woman can make a difference. ”
