How to give villagers daily gifts – crossing animals: Wiki guide for New Horizons

This page is part of IGN’s Crossing: New Horizons Wiki Animal Guide and describes in detail everything you need to know about gifting residents of your island!

Donations from your residents will become available after you complete the Jingle tasks. Visit the How to Perform Jingle Tasks page to learn what you need to do to complete it.

Once you are done with Jingle’s assignments, you will be able to start this part. But you won’t be able to give a resident a gift if the gift isn’t wrapped in wrapping paper! You can use any wrapping paper you want, including formal wrapping paper. If you don’t have them, talk to the farmer and they will give you 3, but after that you will have to buy your own.

It is impossible to give an “incorrect” gift to a resident! They will appreciate everything you give them, so Anhka will be perfectly happy when she is handed dinosaur toys. After all, that’s what the season is about: you’re counting on what you think of them!

It is worth noting that you can still give gifts to locals who have given you toys while helping Jingle deliver gifts; after all, they were from Santa Claus!

As a thank you for giving them a gift, your villagers will give you their own gift; there is no connection between which toy you give to the peasant and which toy you give in return. They will, however, always be a different color from the toys you can buy from Nook’s Cranny during the holidays. This is great for those who want to collect all the Puppy Plushie variants!
