President Muhammadu Buhari says he was shocked and dumbfounded when he received information about the death of Sam Nda-Isaiah.
This is contained in his letter of condolences to the family on Thursday.
The Nigerian leader called on them to adhere to the family name.
“On behalf of the Federal Government and my family, I sincerely express my condolences over the sudden transition of my friend and ally, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, publisher of Leadership Newspapers.
“In fact, Sam’s untimely passage filled me with shock and sadness to the point that I was lost in words when the news reached me,” he said.
The president added that he would miss the deceased.
He described Nda-Isaiah as a massive fish that came out of the media ocean and the political arena.
“I express my condolences to the Nda-Isaiah family, the media fraternity and all those who mourn this man of beliefs, a determined and persistent believer in a better country. Nigeria has no doubt lost its exemplary gentleman. “
Bukhari prayed that Almighty God would comfort Sam’s family, friends and associates and give his soul a peaceful rest.
His letter to Sam’s younger brother Abraham was delivered by Garba Shehu, a senior special assistant for the media; Sarki Abba, Senior Special Assistant for Home Affairs and Head of State Protocol, Ambassador Lawal Kazaure.
