Yumoke Oludele, the younger sister of Sunkanmi Babalola, the deputy majority leader at the Oyo State House, was allegedly abducted in Ibadan by suspected gunmen.
The lady was said to have been abducted Monday night around the Oniguguri crossroads, next to Lava Jude, Iyana Church, the Monatana area of Ibadan, the state capital, on Monday as she was coming from her store.
The report states that Jumoke was on a commercial motorcycle when she was attacked by armed suspects, while her brother claimed that she was abducted while driving her car.
A family member, who said he was not anonymous, said that the suspected kidnappers contacted the family and asked for 20 million ransoms for her release.
Her older brother, who said the family reported the incident, added that his sister was abducted around 8:20 p.m.
He said, “According to information, three gunmen in a white Toyota Camry kidnapped her. I was told that the kidnappers shot into the air twice and forced her from her car into theirs.
“I haven’t heard anything, but we still hope to get a positive response from them; they have contacted a family member, but the terms and conditions have yet to be agreed.
A public relations police officer, Oyo State Command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, said he was still unaware of the abduction because the police station where the incident took place was leveled during a #EndSARS protest in the state.
