Griezmann on target in the French draw

Antoine Griezmann scored a stunning defeat for France in the World Cup qualifiers on Wednesday against Ukraine in Paris.

The Barcelona striker was named in the starting XI and with a great shot in the upper corner he broke the deadlock in the 19th minute.

The goal put Griezmann in fourth place on the French all-time scorers list with 34 for Les Bleus. Only Michel Platini, Olivier Giroud and Thierry Henry have more.

Ukraine retaliated in the second half with a shot by Serhiy Sydorchuk, who performed a great defense against Presnel Kimpembe of Paris Saint-Germain and Hugo Lloris.

France could not find a winner after being tied and had to settle for a draw. Griezmann played for a full 90 minutes, while Ousmane Dembele came off the bench in 64 minutes and played for his country for the first time since November 2018.
