Are you a proud bearer of the new? Did you pick up a discount or maybe choose with a more attractive price of $ 199? No matter what model you are dealing with, it is natural to think that your next stop is the Apple Store – either online or in person. Where else could it be supplied with watch straps, cordless headphones, charging cradles and other accessories?
Literally anywhere else. All of these things are worth having, but Apple charges a substantial premium for them. Fortunately, there are excellent affordable alternatives, many of which are listed below. I tried some of them myself; others include based on user reviews or other factors. Keep in mind that my use of “cheap” here does not mean product quality, but price. I will update this list from time to time.
Cheap Apple Watch bands
Thanks to easy range changes, the Apple Watch can quickly change both its appearance and its function. Leather strap for work. (One day.) A sports band for the gym. (One day.) Milan loop for theatah. (Sigh.)
Buy any of these at the Apple Store and you’ll pay between $ 30 and $ 150. How absurd is that? Here are a few examples of the Apple Watch range that you can get for less – in some cases way less.
The Milan loop is a metal mesh strip with a magnetic closure. It’s one of the easiest bands to apply (and size up to the wrist), and it’s also a great option.
Apple charges $ 149 (!) For its version, but there are countless options available on Amazon ranging from $ 10 to $ 15. I connected with one of them below, but he only represents what is out there. Whatever you do, don’t pay Apple $ 149.
One bad thing about Milan loops: Over time, I can chew a hole in coats and sweaters. So if you want a nice look without that problem or you just don’t like the feeling of metal on your wrist, look for a leather strap.
Like this one: Fullmosa (via Amazon) sells a wide range of Apple Watch bands made of calfskin, most of which cost $ 10-15. You can choose from a dozen different colors, many with one or two buckle color options.
Again, this is just one product out of a dozen. I chose it because the reviews of more than 4,300 users average about 4.5 stars.
The basic sports band Apple Watch is fine, but I’ve always liked the look of the Nike version – the one with all the holes. Turns out you can get it for only $ 7 (maybe even less), with a choice of color combinations. And the options don’t stop there; just look on Amazon’s “Apple Watch silicone strap” or “sports strap” and you’ll find a generous range – many of them priced at $ 15 or less.
If you don’t want a silicone strap, but want something that’s both modern and good for exercise, consider a sports loop. It’s like a woven nylon version of the Milan loop, with a clasp attached instead of metal and magnets.
Below I have linked one that is only $ 8, but you may be able to find more packages ranging from $ 15 to $ 20. Apple’s price for a single: $ 49 and up.
My colleague Shara Tibken notes that velcro doesn’t last that long on these cheaper bands, but even if you have to replace it every, say, six months, you’ll still come forward.
See more great ones.
Cheap chargers for Apple Watch
Traveling with the Apple Watch can be a hassle because you have to recharge it pretty daily. That means unplugging the charger from any set-up nightstand, and then hoping it won’t get lost along the way.
Better bet: pack a portable charger. Not portable to stand, beware, the one that uses a basic Apple charger, but a rechargeable battery with its own Apple Watch magnetic charging module.
Of course, this can also be a hassle, as you will probably need to charge the charger after a few uses. But leave it in a hotel room, plugged into your laptop or any other USB port, and it will be good to head out until evening.
As with choosing a power bank for your phone, the higher the battery capacity, the more charge you will get. Before you opt for a Belkin or Griffin charger from the Apple Store and spend at least $ 60, take a look at some of the other options.
If you’re not looking for something less, like a pendant charger, you’ll buy this one. It is a 5,000 mAh bank, which is already much longer than most Apple Watch chargers. He sits on the dock, which is also a clock stand. When you go on a trip, just take the battery and go. Oh, and it also has a standard USB port so it can charge your phone or other mobile device.
Approximately compact and suitable for keychains such as portable chargers for the Apple Watch, this toddler has a 1,000 mAh battery – which is good for several charges, depending on how much battery power your watch has.
One significant advantage: the charger itself uses a Lightning charging cable, so you don’t have to bring a Micro-USB cable with you, which is what most of these things use.
Already traveling with a power bank? Just plug it into one of its USB ports (or any powered port) and, presto, the Apple Watch charger. To be clear, this has no power of its own; it is just a connection base for charging the watch. It’s also one of the cheapest and most compact designs I’ve seen. (You can get a charging cable for a few dollars more, but then you’ll have more clutter in the cable.)
Cheap Apple Watch headphones
One of the best tricks of the Apple Watch (if you have a Series 3 or newer, that’s it) is the built-in memory for music and podcasts. To take advantage of this, you will need a pair of wireless headphones.
Like maybe AirPods? No doubt, it’s good for your Apple Watch. They also have $ 159 (or $ 249 for AirPods Pro), so no thanks. I would definitely start by studying CNET’s best sports headphones, which includes my best choice for runners, AfterShoxz Aeropex.
But they’re expensive too, and we’re here to talk cheaply (no, listen). So take a look at these affordable Bluetooth headsets that can perfectly pair with your watch – and our review.

They seem too good to be true, from the sweat-resistant speakers themselves, to a charging case that supports both USB-C and Qi wireless charging. EarFun Free is priced at $ 45, but is currently being sold at a price of $ 36, and there is a 10% discount bonus for raising. (Both are subject to change.) Read our review of EarFun Free.
OK, these are my choices for a cheap – but still great – Apple Watch accessory. What would you add to this list?
