When is Google Pixel 5 arrived a few months ago, it seemed like something was missing. Past Pixel phones were launched with the XL model, but the Pixel 5 debuted on its own. Could the Pixel 5 Pro be the missing piece in Google’s smartphone puzzle?
There’s a lot of mystery surrounding the Pixel 5 Pro, and not the least important is the debate over whether the phone is actually in Google’s preparation. However, there have been several rumors about the potential addition of Google’s setting – some of which contradict each other – so it’s worth trying to keep all speculation about Google Pixel 5 Pro correct.
Here’s what we’ve heard so far about the Google Pixel 5 Pro and the possibilities that this phone from rumor will become a reality.
Google Pixel 5 Pro: Where it fits into Google’s lineup
Before we get into the rumors about the Pixel 5 Pro, we must first summarize the state of Google’s Pixel line. Google currently sells three phones with the Pixel 5 as the flagship device. Introduced in October, this $ 699 pixel continues Google’s tradition of software-based mobile photography, making it one of the best camera phones you can buy. It also has 5G connectivity.
But Pixel 5 may not be best 5G phone Google offers. That honor belongs Pixel 4a 5G, which offers many of the same features – including dual rear cameras and an identical Snapdragon 765G processor. The Pixel 4a 5G doesn’t have a faster Pixel 5 screen refresh rate and doesn’t have a water resistance rating like the Pixel 5. But it also costs $ 200 less, and the screen is slightly larger, at 6.2 inches compared to 6 inches.
The Pixel 4a rounds out Google’s phone line. It features only one rear camera, runs on a less powerful processor and has no 5G connectivity. But with $ 349, it’s one of the best bargains for smartphones you can find, especially with the high-quality images it can produce.
These are three phones whose price ranges from $ 349 to $ 699. The Pixel 5 Pro would probably be better than all of these models in terms of specs and would probably introduce a higher price more in line with what Google used to charge for its flagship devices. Given the lack of an XL version of the Pixel 5, we would also expect a larger screen to compete with phablets like Galaxy Note 20 Samsung and iPhone 12 Pro Max from Apple.
Google Pixel 5 Pro: Release Date
Scams around Pixel 5 Pro he first began appearing in October when he was a respected leaker Max Weinbach tweeted that two people told him that the “real flagship Pixel” would arrive in March 2021. Even then, Weinbach described the rumor as “unfounded. Two months later, he stated that the Pixel 5 Pro did not exist.” I wish the Pixel 5 Pro was real, but it wasn’t, ” he tweeted.
This is the biggest rumor I’ve heard in centuries, and I think this is an unfounded rumor I’ve heard as two people, so I absolutely don’t believe it, but obviously there’s a real leading Pixel coming out like March 2021. Again, an unfounded rumor.October 29, 2020
Others believe that behind that smoke Pixel 5 Pro is a fire. Ross Young, an analyst who monitors display vendors, responded to Weinbach’s tweet, saying panel suppliers told him the Pixel 5 Pro was on hold.
So even if you buy the idea that the Pixel 5 Pro exists as something that Google has in its plans, it sounds like the original launch date in March 2021 won’t happen. That would then push the phone later in the spring, when Google is known to be launching budget phones at about the same time as its development conference. Later after that, the introduction of the phone also comes with the introduction of the Pixel 6, which will probably happen in the fall, when Google traditionally shows its latest leading models.
Google Pixel 5 Pro: Price
If the rumor can’t be agreed upon when the Pixel 5 Pro comes – or even if it does – then don’t expect any clarity about pricing. Given the price of the Pixel 5 from $ 699, you would expect the Pro version to be higher. How much bigger would depend on what features are available, although it seems $ 100 to $ 200 more would be a reasonable estimate. How much is it worth, Pixel 4 XL it cost $ 899 when it debuted in 2019.
Google Pixel 5 Pro: Potential Features
If Google comes out with a Pro version of its Pixel 5, it’s understandable that the phone would be a more advanced version of Google’s current flagship brand. This means that some areas need to be addressed in which the Pixel 5 is briefly absent and there is no greater way to improve that phone than by charging its processor.
In the interest of reducing the cost of the Pixel 5, Google opted for a less powerful processor than the one found in the leading Android flagship models. Instead of the Snapdragon 865 running Galaxy S20,, OnePlus 8 and other high-end Android phones, the Pixel 5 has a Snapdragon 765G. It’s a capable on-chip system that will handle the tasks most people use smartphones for, but it can’t compete with phones that benefit from Qualcomm’s more powerful silicon.
You can assume that the Pixel 5 Pro would opt for a chipset from Qualcomm’s best series in class 8. And the arrival Snapdragon 888, a new mobile processing platform that is likely to target devices like Galaxy S21, gives Google a chance. Google could turn to the Snapdragon 865 now that it is no longer Qualcomm’s flagship chipset and offer a more powerful phone without over-increasing the price. The Snapdragon 888, meanwhile, could be used in the Pixel 6 when it hits next fall, as expected.
Google also dropped Sense motion controls from the Pixel 5 after introducing the feature with Pixel 4. In part, this was done to get rid of the thick top mask that housed the sensors needed to detect gestures and support facial recognition. But Motion Sense was also a feature that really didn’t have a wide appeal and that might be at home on a professionally focused phone.
One of the few leaks that hinted at potential Pixel 5 Pro features was a series of photos that appeared on Slash Leaks. One photo in particular is shown phone without any cutout or notch to accommodate the front camera. Some have interpreted this as meaning that Google was working on a phone with a camera below the screen, a feature that is currently only available in ZTE Axon 20 5G. But this alleged photo of the Pixel 5 Pro has been widely dismissed as fake.
If you still want to believe it, another screenshot from the same source revealed some of the reported specifications of the Pixel 5 Pro. These include 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which would be double the capacity of the Pixel 5.
Google Pixel 5 Pro: What we want
Right now the biggest thing we hope to hear about the Pixel 5 Pro is whether the phone will become or not. At this point, if the rhythm of the rumors doesn’t start to accelerate very quickly, we’ll assume this product just won’t be.
Still, in case the Pixel 5 Pro works, we’d hope for a phone that really meets that “Pro” label. This means a more powerful processor than the one in the Pixel 5 and productivity features that make this phone more than the photographer himself (even if those images are the best you can get from a smartphone, as was the case with other Google headsets).
Google’s recent phones didn’t actually provide long battery life – the Pixel 5 arrived on our battery test in just 9.5 hours, while the Pixel 4a 5G lasted just 8 hours and 12 minutes. These numbers don’t match the average for smartphones, so we’d hope the Pixel 5 Pro does a better job with power management. As soon as Google phones charge, we’d love for Google phones to get closer to the charging speeds that Samsung and OnePlus bring to their top flagship models.
Finally, describing something as a Pro model suggests the level of polishing and glare that Pixel phones lack to date. The best you can say about Pixel’s design is that it’s functional and doesn’t interfere with your photography or other mobile activities. Hopefully, the Pixel 5 Pro’s design goes a long way and provides us with something that stands out from other Google phones – assuming there’s an actual product to stand out.
