If you’re looking for a mid-range phone that also connects to the 5G network, Samsung has only tripled your capabilities. The phone manufacturer introduced itself redesigned Galaxy A line, and while Galaxy A52 5G Leading this cost, this $ 499 phone is not your only choice when it comes to a cheap Samsung device capable of working with the new generation 5G.
Along with the Galaxy A52, there are also the Galaxy A42 and Galaxy A32, both 5G phones and both priced below $ 400. In fact, stack all three phones side by side and you’ll have a hard time recognizing the difference between the Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A42 5G versus Galaxy A32 5G. It certainly doesn’t help that Samsung has equipped all three phones with equally large 6.5-inch screens and similar features.
But there are enough differences that can affect which of these new Galaxy A phones is right for you. We will still have to conduct tests for full reviews of the Galaxy A52 5G, Galaxy A42 5G and Galaxy A32 5G before we can give a final word on which phone is best suited for which purpose. But based on a review of the different specifications for each model, here’s where we expect each new Galaxy A model to be outstanding.

If you are buying a Galaxy A phone, chances are you are doing so because you are trading at major prices. The good news, then – no matter which phone you buy, a 5G device won’t cost you more than $ 499. It is a very attractive price that places all three models in an elite company.
But one phone has the most attractive price ever. The Galaxy A32 5G costs $ 279, making it the cheapest 5G phone. For context, OnePlus Nord N10 5G costs $ 299. At T-Mobile, you will even be able to download the Galaxy A32 5G for free when trading any phone, although you will have to dedicate two years of service to the mobile operator.
It’s not that other Samsung Galaxy A models are that much more expensive. The Galaxy A42 costs $ 399, while the Galaxy A52 costs $ 499. Google’s Pixel 4a 5G is one of the best 5G phones under $ 500 we’ve tested so far, and both the A52 and A42 either meet or exceed that price.
Galaxy A52 5G vs. Galaxy A42 5G vs. Galaxy A32 5G: Fastest 5G
5G networks are still ongoing as operators work to build coverage and improve performance. Currently, the fastest speeds come from Verizon’s 5G installations based on mmWave in more than 60 cities across the country. And if you want a phone that works with that special flavor of 5G, you’ll have to take the Galaxy A42 5G – it’s the only one of Samsung’s new trio that’s compatible with Verizon’s high-speed network. Verizon also sells the Galaxy A42 5G, too.
But if you are not a Verizon customer, you can contact the Galaxy A52 5G or Galaxy A32 5G. Both work with 5G low-range networks that have a wider range than mmWave, even if speeds are slower. AT&T plans to sell the A52, while the A32 will be available through its Cricket Wireless discount service.
Galaxy A52 5G vs. Galaxy A42 5G vs. Galaxy A32 5G: Best Screen
At first glance, the screens on these three new phones may look terribly similar, as there are all 6.5-inch panels. But the cheaper Galaxy A32 goes with the LCD screen instead of the more expensive OLED panel used on the A42 and A52 models.
The Galaxy A52 5G is a new Samsung mid-range phone that you can get if you appreciate the screen compared to any other feature on the phone. Not only does it have better resolution than the other two models – FHD + compared to HD + resolution on the A42 and A32 – but it also has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This is usually a feature found in expensive phones, so finding it on a device worth $ 499 adds real value.
The Galaxy A32 offers a refresh rate of 90Hz, which is faster than most smartphones where a refresh rate of 60Hz is more typical. Interestingly, although the Galaxy A42 costs more than the A32, it uses that conventional refresh rate of 60Hz.

Cameras are very difficult to analyze from a distance, because you really have to test them personally to see how the combination of hardware and post-processing software combines in creating images. Still, on paper the Galaxy A52 5G seems to offer the most powerful range of cameras.
Both the A52 and A32 have the same range of lenses – a wide-angle camera that serves as the main camera, plus an ultra-wide-angle lens and dedicated macro and depth sensors. However, the Galaxy A52 has a higher resolution main camera sensor. It uses a 64MP sensor to a 48MP sensor on the A32. The extremely wide lens is also more powerful on the A52 – 12MP compared to the 8MP shooter on the A32.
The Galaxy A42 5G does not have a macro lens on the other two Samsung phones. (It’s not a big loss if our experience with macro cameras needs to pass.) It has the same 48MP main camera and 8MP ultra-wide shot as the Galaxy A32.
Galaxy A52 5G vs. Galaxy A42 5G vs. Galaxy A32 5G: Best performance
Performance on the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A42 should be similar. Both phones use the same Snapdragon 750G system on a chip. The A52 uses additional RAM – 6GB to 4GB of A42 – so it should be easier to switch from one app to another.
The Galaxy A32 5G runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 720 chipset. We haven’t had a chance to compare any phones, but based on the testing we’ve seen online, we’d expect 750G phones to produce better reference numbers than the Galaxy A32. This is probably reflected in the way Samsung has appreciated the new phones.
Galaxy A52 5G vs. Galaxy A42 5G vs. Galaxy A32 5G: The most durable phone
Only one of the new Galaxy A phones has an IP rating for water resistance. It would be the Galaxy A52 5G, whose IP67 rating means it can withstand soaking in water up to 3 meters. The A52 also has a stereo speaker, if you’re looking for ways this device stands out from the other two models.

We will have to run these phones through a custom battery test to confirm any differences in the Galaxy A52 5G compared to the Galaxy A42 5G compared to the Galaxy A32 5G, but it seems that the Galaxy A42 and A32 should offer similar battery life. Both phones have a 5000 mAh power supply to keep things running.
The battery of the Galaxy A52 5G is only 4,500 mAh. But it has better charging characteristics than these new phones. The A52 supports 25W charging compared to 15W charging for other phones.
Galaxy A52 5G vs. Galaxy A42 5G vs. Galaxy A32 5G: Outlook
On paper, the Galaxy A52 5G has the most impressive specs of the new Galaxy A models – no wonder considering it also has the highest price. The Galaxy A32 5G will appeal to bargain hunters who want a cheap 5G phone that – in theory anyway – takes a long time to charge and offers a quick refreshing display. Meanwhile, Verizon customers want to take the Galaxy A42 5G seriously, given its compatibility Verizon 5G.
