FY approved N8.1 billion for road rehabilitation

The Federal Executive Council has approved N8.1 billion for the rehabilitation of some roads.

This was said by Minister of Labor and Housing Babatunde Fashol, a briefing by the State House correspondent at the end of the council meeting, chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Abuja State House.

Countries that will benefit include Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Cross River, Nasarawa, Lagos, Ogun, Kogi, Edo, Yobe and Delta states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Fashola said: “The Ministry of Labor and Housing presented the memorandum on behalf of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA. This is made for general repairs, emergency repairs and road maintenance and critical interventions on 10 roads in different parts of Nigeria.

“One is the maintenance of the Ikot Ekpene-Itu road in the state of Cross River, the repair and maintenance of the Onitsha-Aguleri-Adani road in the state of Anambra, the general maintenance of the Nasarawa-Toto-Abaji road and the reconstruction of failed road sections on Zuba-Abaji road in FCT.

He added that maintenance repairs along Atan-Agbara on the border of the states of Lagos and Ogun along the area of ​​Badagri and general maintenance of the road Okena-Adogo-Ayaokuta-Itobe in the state of Kogi.

Also, the funds will cover repairs for the maintenance of the Potiskum-Fika-Ngalda-Gombe road in the state of Yobe, general repairs of the Benin-Asaba-Onitsha double road that exists the existing road to the Niger bridge, general repairs of the Warri-Benin road in Delta State.
