Four Chelsea games that can see the Spurs fix Thomas Tuchel in the Champions League race

Three points is all that separates Tottenham from Chelsea as we go into the last nine league games of the season.

Looking good for the top four spots at the turn of the year, Spurs ’mixed form has seen them slide down the table in the last two months to leave them with a big battle on their hands.

Returning to the right path on Sunday night at Aston Villa with a 2-0 victory, Jose Mourinho needs more from his players in the remaining preparations after terrible performances at Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb before.

In addition to the tough matches against Manchester United, Everton and Leicester City that are coming, the Spurs also have a decent set of games with which to end the season.

The fact that they are no longer in Europe could go in their favor, as well as that Chelsea are still in the Champions League, and they have the FA Cup semi-finals left.

Although Thomas Tuchel’s team is currently in good shape and does not look like receiving goals, there are several key matches ahead that could make the race among the top four interesting in the last few weeks.

So which Chelsea games could play into the hands of Mourinho and Tottenham? he glances.

Sunday, April 24 – West Ham vs Chelsea

The first schedule that could help the Spurs is the London derby between West Ham and Chelsea.

Perhaps seen as a direct victory for the Blues in previous years, David Moyes ’men are heavily in the running for first place after proving their doubts all season.

Second on the table with results at home this season with eight wins, four draws and three defeats in his 15 games, Hammers will be sure to set his good record at London Stadium.

They got one at Chelsea last July, when they won 3-2 thanks to a late strike by Andriy Yarmolenko.

The match comes a few days before a possible Champions League semi-final date for Chelsea, so they’ll really have one eye on that.

Saturday, May 8 – Man City vs. Chelsea

If Chelsea do enter the Champions League final four, they will travel to the Etihad a few days after the rematch.

Not exactly the place you want to go after a taxing European game, City have been in stunning form at home this season with 12 wins in 16 matches.

It could also be a weekend that should potentially win them to secure the title for the third time in four seasons, but it will all depend on what kind of rival Manchester United will be between now and then.

A very tricky match in the final month of the season, it could be a game when points fall to open things up for the Spurs.

Wednesday, May 12 – Chelsea vs Arsenal

Chelsea will be the favorites to come out on top in the London derby, but it all depends on which Arsenal team will show up.

So up and down in terms of their form, the Gunners will potentially need points for a European place through the league if they can get a little consistency in their game.

Arsenal ran a 3-1 winner in the reverse schedule in December, as in last season’s FA Cup final at Wembley.

Chelsea have won just three of their last 13 games against Arsenal and that record will concern their fans heading into the showdown at Stamford Bridge.

Saturday, May 15 – Chelsea vs Leicester City

The Blues will also have to be at the top of their game in the next home match as Leicester travel to SW6.

Brendan Rodgers ’team currently has a five-point advantage over Chelsea and will hope to have already finished in the Champions League by the end of the match in the penultimate match of the campaign.

If not, it could prove to be a very interesting encounter as they both fight to secure a place in the main European competition.

Having lost 2-0 at King Power Stadium back in January, Chelsea have only won two of their last eight games in all competitions against the Foxes.
