Fortnite shutdown today: Epic servers turned off to update Fortnite 15.40 | Games Fun

UPDATE: Fortnite servers are now unable to be maintained as Epic Games runs the 15.40 update on all platforms.

Today’s downtime is expected to be short, and the maximum operating time is estimated at three hours. However, as in previous weeks, Fortnite servers are expected to be online again before noon in the UK.

ORIGINAL: Epic Games is launching its next major update to the Fortnite season, offering new content via a new patch. The good news is that the 15.40 update is scheduled for release today, February 16, 2021.

Epic Games has also shared a few teasing regarding the big patch, which involves a development team returning an unauthorized favorite. What that means is anyone’s guess, but some fans are hoping it includes the return of Pump Shotgun.

Here’s what we know to tease about Fortnite update 15.40 for today’s patch:

HOW MANY FORTNIT SERVERS ARE COMING TO UPDATE 15.40?

Epic Games confirmed that Fortnite servers fail at 9:00 GMT, but did not provide much information on how long maintenance will take.

According to an estimate shared on the Epic Games website, Fortnite servers could crash for a total of three hours.

This is the longest possible prediction, which means that servers are likely to grow much sooner than possible.

For players in the United States, Fortnite server downtime will begin at 4 a.m. Eastern Time, on all platforms.

And with a scheduled completion date for Feb. 17, it will be interesting to see if this latest update changes anything.

The full description of the event reads: “February 10 – February 17, community battles take place: Hearts Wild Team Battles brings 65 creators with players from all Fortnite servers into a series of unique challenges. Help your favorite creators to earn as many points as possible for the opportunity to claim some sweet prizes in the game.
