Former PDP spokesman Metuh leaves Kuja prison
Former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) spokeswoman Olisa Metuh was released from Kuje prison on Thursday.
This followed the reversal of a seven-year prison sentence handed down to him by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja.
The Court of Appeals held that Judge Okon Abang, a judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, had shown bias in the case.
The Commission for Economic and Financial Crime (EFCC) has accused Metuha of seven counts of money laundering for allegedly receiving 400 million ND from the office of a national security adviser.
On February 25, 2020, the first instance court found him guilty on all counts of money laundering and sentenced him to seven years in prison.
