Lionel Messi has scored 23 goals in LaLiga Santander this season, and will desperately add that total against Real Madrid at El Clasico next weekend.
The Argentine has failed to score against Los Blancos in their earlier match this season, and has failed to network or provide assistance in any of his last six games against the reigning Spanish champions, and has not done so since Cristiano Ronaldo left the capital because of Juventus in 2018.
In fact, his last goal against Real Madrid came to Matchday 36 of the 2017/18 season in a 2-2 draw at Camp Nou.
He had a great record against Barcelonathe most bitter rivals – he scored 21 goals in the first 27 games against them – meanwhile he has scored only five in the last 17. Messi will face Real Madrid on Saturday hoping to end a bad game against them, and for the Catalans he has been in incredible form since the turn of the year.
With the proviso that his next Clasico may be his last Barcelona, will undoubtedly be desperate to leave his mark and continue Blaugrana’s attack on the LaLiga Santander title.
