Fifty-year-old father Adam Musa, his sons and grandson were arrested for allegedly hacking to death their neighbor Alhaji Kabiru Ya’u (30 years old) and his daughter Harira Kabiru (5 years old) -old in Madunkuri village of Gomo, Sumaila state Kano,
Musa was arrested by police along with his son Sule Mallam and grandson Isyaku Sule, while a chase was launched to arrest the remaining two culprits.
A spokesman for Kano State Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the incident, said the suspects committed the heinous act sometime in August. DSP Haruna said that the father instructed his three sons and grandsons to kill the victim, stating that the deceased suspect was the kidnapper.
According to him, “Upon receipt of the report, Kano Police Command Commissioner, CP Habu A. Sani, immediately instructed Operation Puff Adder team led by DSP Shehu Dahiru to arrest the culprits. The team went into action, followed and on 19/12/2020, 115 days after the incident, was arrested; Adam Musa (50 years old), Sule Mallam (30 years old), Isyaku Sule (27 years old), father, son and grandson. All the same addresses and neighbors of the deceased.
“After the investigation, the father admitted that he instructed his three sons and his grandson to kill the victim, stating that the deceased suspect was the kidnapper.
“The suspects admitted that they attacked the victims to death with a machete and bamboo sticks.
“An investigation is underway to arrest the remaining perpetrators. The suspects will be indicted in court after the investigation is completed, “said DSP Haruna.
Police Command also said it had managed to arrest one Gambo Yakubu, the cheater of Nigerian Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, who cheated more than 15 innocent people for N5,000.
DSP Haruna said Yakubu was a former employee at the Sports Center founded by the Captain of the Super Eagles, so he used the opportunity to falsify documents in the name of taking people to football abroad.
“The suspect was arrested and freely admitted that he cheated more than fifteen (15) innocent citizens by collecting money from them by pretending to be Ahmad Musa, selling forms in Five Thousand Naira (N5,000) to young people who want to play football abroad. He collected over seven hundred thousand Naira (N700,000: 00) and spent the money in hotels on his girlfriends in the Sabon Gari area of Cannes.
“Ahmad Musa is visiting CP Habu A. Sani, appreciating the command’s efforts to ensure the security of the state of Kano and promising to provide all necessary support to the community police,” DSP Haruna said.
