Fifty-year-old Adamu Musa, his son Sula Mallam and grandson Isyaku Sula have been arrested for the alleged murder of a man suspected of being a kidnapper and his daughters in the village of Gomo, Sumaila local government in Kano state.
The suspects are accused of attacking the deceased with machetes and bamboo sticks on August 26. They said they attacked the Madunkuri settlement in the village of Gomo and killed one 30-year-old Kabir Ya’u and his daughter Hariru Kabir.
Police spokesman Kano Abdullahi Kiyawa, who confirmed this in a statement issued Tuesday, said Mr Musa admitted “that he instructed his three sons and grandsons to kill the victim based on allegations that the suspect was a kidnapper”.
Operation Puff Adder, which arrested the suspects on Saturday, approximately 119 days after the incident, said that “investigations are underway to arrest the remaining culprits.” The suspects will be indicted in court after the investigation is completed. “
