The recent governor of Ekiti, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, insisted on Sunday that former aviation minister, head Olufemi Fani-Kayode, not leave the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

He said those leaving the party are driven by their greed and will be Fani-Kayode, a leading Nigerian, tortured fighter, staying in the PDP, despite news circulating about his defection to the ruling Congress of All Progressives, APC.

Fayose said this on TV Sunday politics, followed Vanguard digital team.

Recall, the head of Femi Fani-Kayode was recently in the news about the alleged defection of the ruling party when photos of him and APC reconciliation committee chairman and Yobe governor Mallam Mai Buni and Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello appeared online.

However, Fani-Kayode also denied joining the ruling party shortly after Governor Kogi announced that he had defected to the ruling party; but Fani-Kayode said consultations were ongoing.

Reacting, however, to rumors of defection, Fayose insisted Fani-Kayode was leading nowhere.

He said: “Everyone who leaves the PDP is deprived of their own greed. For me, I will never go to APC. Some people may choose to be dishonest, but I can never go there at my age, what am I looking for?

“I’d rather go and be the husband of my wife who joined the APC.”

Fayose wondered why Fani-Kayode was silent about her defection and challenged him to speak up or make a statement about whether or not he was going.

“Many times it is good to sell your market to those who want to buy. If FFK wants to go, and he hasn’t left yet, then you know something is wrong.

“I am one hundred percent sure that FFK is not going anywhere. I’ve talked to FFK and I’m sure he’s not going. If he goes to the APC, he would be politically dead as the first Nigerian.

“Although he is not an everyday politician, he is hardworking and a fighter. I asked him and he said it was far from it, ”Fayose said.

“I do not want to join people in insinuating things. What did those who left the PDP return? What did he get back about Senator Omisore? “

Vanguard also reported how The northern youth of the PDP issued a 24-hour ultimatum party BoT and NWC to ensure that Fani-Kayode does not leave the party.
