Evening Arsenal headlines as Vinicius Jr. weighed in, Gabriel Martinelli’s injury update

Here are your headlines in the evening at Arsenal on Wednesday, December 23rd.

Vinicius’ move considered

Arsenal are considering a January loan for Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior, according to a Daily Star report.

The Gunners have struggled this season with the amount of goals they have scored – and the hope is that Vinicius can come in and help with the problem.

When Unai Emery was in charge before Mikel Arteta, the North London club tried to sign the Brazilian striker and they are still on good terms with his agent, the report said.

The 20-year-old – who can play anywhere across the front line – is not in favor of Zinedine Zidane at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Vinicius cost Real 38.7 million pounds back in 2018, but his development did not progress as they initially hoped, and the young man scored only twice this season in 12 appearances in La Liga.

Martinelli breaks the silence by updating the injury

Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli has given his club reinforcements ahead of their clash in the Premier League Boxing Day with London rival Chelsea.

Martinelli started for the first time this season with a 4-1 defeat by Manchester United in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, but limped in the second half.

However, the 19-year-old posted an update through his Twitter page, which will surely delight the supporters of Arteta and Arsenal.

Martinelli wrote, “I feel fine and ready to go” – accompanied by a loving heart and prayer emojis.

The highly rated teenager had only a short cameo against City, but played a big part in what was good of the gunners – when the Brazilian threw the ball into Alexandre Lacazette, who equalized with his head at the Emirates Stadium.

Mustafi’s agent confirms Barca’s conversations

Shkodra Mustafi’s agent, Emre Ozturk, revealed that his client had spoken to Barcelona over the January transfer.

Mustafi is currently out of the picture under Artet, and since the Spanish giants are suffering some injuries in the center of defense, the German will likely leave the Emirates and move to the Nou Camp.

Ozturk told SPOX (via Sports Witness): “I’m not in Barcelona because of Yusuf Demir, but because of Shkodra Mustafi from Arsenal, whom we also represent.”

The 28-year-old wants to leave Topniki and has rejected the club’s contractual offer, football.london discovered back in October.

The German center-forward seem to be on his way to leaving the club he was with since signing in Valencia in 2016.
